Tegalalang (investment zone)

North of Ubud center, UNESCO-famous terraces; cooler air, larger plots, and growing upscale resort and eco-villa interest.

Tegalalang, north of Ubud center, is internationally known for its rice terraces (including UNESCO-recognized cultural landscape framing). The district has become a magnet for boutique resorts, eco-style villas, and buyers who want cooler nights and more breathing room than the dense central ring.

Compared with cramped center plots, Tegalalang can offer relatively more land per dollar—though prices have risen with visibility. “Investment zone” is not a guarantee: success still depends on title quality, infrastructure, staffing, and whether your exit audience is tourism, long-stay nomads, or local demand.

Use this label as a geography cue, then run the same financial and legal checks you would anywhere else in Bali.
