Hak Pakai (right to use)
A titled right to use land or a unit, sometimes relevant for foreign buyers under specific setups—details depend on asset class and eligibility.
Hak Pakai is a “right to use” title. Depending on the scenario it can apply to land or to apartment-style strata, subject to eligibility rules that change with regulation.
It is not interchangeable with leasehold agreements between private parties (see leasehold). Marketing language often mixes “lease,” “certified use,” and “nominee” phrasing—only a notary letter and the zoning/class of the land tell the real story.
