Teak wood

Indonesia’s flagship hardwood—dense grain, natural oils, used from pillars to bespoke furniture for long tropical service life.

Teak (jati) is Indonesia’s most prized construction and furniture timber: strong, attractive, and rich in natural oils that resist rot and insects when properly graded and dried.

High-quality teak underpins structural pillars, decking, doors, and bespoke interiors. Where budgets stretch differently, operators sometimes specify bengkirai for posts or decking—still Indonesian hardwood, usually lighter on wallet than premium jati.

Cheap “teak look” substitutes rarely age the same way in Bali’s sun and rain cycles.
